ForFarmers concludes German pact in animal feed

ForFarmers has concluded a pact in Germany in the field of animal feed. The listed company announced today (Wednesday 4 September) that it will merge its feed activities in Germany with the company team agrar. With this step, ForFarmers and team agrar want to gain market share on the German market faster in order to increase profitability.

The two companies are combining their feed activities in Germany in a joint venture, a joint company in which both partners hold a 50% ownership. This joint venture is called ForFarmers team agrar and is active in the supply of feed to all major animal sectors. By joining forces, the companies have better geographical coverage in Germany. They expect to be able to serve their customers better and more efficiently, also by sharing knowledge and expertise in the field of purchasing, formulation and innovation. They also expect to tap into new opportunities on the German feed market with ForFarmers team agrar, in order to make more profit.

Already acquainted with each other
ForFarmers and team agrar, part of the Danish supply giant DLG Group, are no strangers to each other. The companies already worked together in another joint venture in Germany, called HaBeMa. This company is active in the trade, storage and transhipment of raw materials and the production of compound feed in Hamburg. HaBeMa, which currently employs 130 people, will also become part of the new joint venture. ForFarmers is contributing 250 employees with its feed activities, while team agrar employs approximately 130 people in feed. ForFarmers team agrar will soon have a total of eight feed production locations, three terminals and a fleet of vehicles.

Outside the joint venture agreement are the activities in Germany of the brands ForFarmers Thesing, Pavo, Reudink, CirQlar and Vleuten, as well as the activities of the DLG Group in all other areas of agriculture, organic animal feed, the so-called Vilofoss activities (minerals), construction and energy activities in Germany. In addition to the production of compound feed, Team agrar is also active in grain collection and trading, the supply of seeds, fertilizers and crop protection products and business supplies. Ernst Friedlaender, the current CEO of ForFarmers Germany, will become the managing director of the new company.
