Where FrieslandCampina has lowered the Guaranteed Price for January, Arla's payout price remains virtually the same. As a result, the two cooperatives swap positions in the Milk Price Comparison.
The Scandinavian dairy cooperative uses a basic milk price of €55,24 per 100 kilos. This is an increase of €0,24 per 100 kilos, which is due to a currency effect. The pasture milk price is €55,74 per 100 kilos. There are some underlying changes. For example, the fat price increases from €6,89 to €7,25 per kilo. The value of protein, on the other hand, decreases from €6,20 to €5,80 per kilo. In the Dutch Milk price calculator van Boerenbusiness Arla will narrowly surpass FrieslandCampina next month.
Slightly weaker market
In an explanation, Arla indicates that the commodity markets are weakening, now that the Christmas demand is behind us. For the coming months, the expectations are slightly negative, partly due to a slightly increasing milk supply. The retail sales remain well and even show a modest growth.
Better For
The Dutch branch of Arla has embraced the Better for Nature & Farmer quality mark as of 2025. In doing so, it is introducing a new top milk flow that entitles dairy farmers who participate to an additional sustainability premium of €5 per 100 kilos of milk.
