Private cheesemaker Lactalis Leerdammer follows most dairy companies that have already published a milk price for January and also lowers the payment. Leerdammer, however, takes a little more off the price.
The base price of Lactalis Leerdammer will go to €55,73 per 100 kilos, which is €1,51 less than was paid in December. The reduction is also smaller than the increase in December, see also de Boerenbusiness Milk price comparatorFrieslandCampina decreased by €1,35, A-ware by €1,00 and Arla increased slightly (+18 cents).
In return for the reduction, the cheesemaker from Schoonrewoerd and Dalfsen can soften the pain with a higher sustainability premium (on top of the basic price) and a loyalty premium. The first can amount to €1,20 per 100 kilos, the second amounts to 50 cents per 100 kilos for loyal suppliers.
For suppliers with milk deliveries of more than 100.000 kilos per month, there is an extra high volume surcharge of €2,50 per 100 kilos.
