Arla is keeping the milk price the same for February again, even though the dairy company is noticing that the market is gradually changing. In the Netherlands and Belgium, small exchange rate changes are causing the actual price to fluctuate slightly.
The basic milk price for regular milk in the Netherlands for February is €55,20, which is a few cents lower than the January price, according to de Boerenbusiness Milk price comparator on. The organic milk price deviates slightly more at €68,05 per 100 kilos, but remains relatively high. The Belgian milk price of Arla remains exactly the same as in January with a base price of €54,00 per 100 litres.
Arla notes that global milk supply is increasing slightly, while retail sales are still growing, albeit at a slower pace.
The market for commodity dairy (bulk) stabilises after the turn of the year. Overall, the market seems to remain stable for the time being, the company notes.
