Cono Cheesemakers still pays one of the lowest basic milk prices for January, even though the cooperative has only slightly reduced the milk price compared to December. In terms of maximum milk price, the cooperative moves more towards the middle bracket.
This is evident from the data in the Boerenbusiness milk price comparator. The basic milk price for January is €54,03 per 100 kilos. That is €1,06 below the January average of the companies in the milk price comparison. This average is €55,08 per 100 kilos and is 79 cents lower than the average for December 2024.
The maximum milk price is €60,03 closer to the average of this category, which is €60,39 per 100 kilos. The average milk price in the top milk flow segment has increased in January, despite a reduction in the basic milk price. This is because several processors, including Cono itself, introduced additional premiums as of 1 January.

Lactalis Leerdammer, to which a number of Cono members have switched, implemented the largest reduction in the basic milk price from December to January (-€1,50), but the basic price is still €1,70 above that of Cono.
