FrieslandCampina continues to see a downward trend for conventional milk. The price for March is going down for the third consecutive month. The organic milk price is also going down on balance, but then due to a lower seasonal bonus.
The guaranteed price for March will decrease by €1,25 per 100 kilos to €53,75. The Integral Milk Price (which includes the average of all allowances) will go to €56,96 per 100 kilos. The decrease is based on the expectation that the reference companies will reduce their prices for regular farm milk. According to FrieslandCampina, they will do so based on market developments.
The organic guaranteed price for March will increase by €1,50 compared to last month. This increase includes an upward correction for the past period. At that time, the reference prices were underestimated. The increase is also based on the expectation that the reference companies will keep their prices in line with the stable market developments for organic dairy. Despite the increase in the guaranteed price, the amount that organic dairy farmers receive will decrease on balance, because the seasonal allowance decreases.
