Cono Cheesemakers is keeping the milk price for February unchanged, while many other processors have lowered it even further. With the maximum milk price that can be obtained from Cono via the Caring Dairy sustainability program, the cooperative from Beemster scores higher than the PlanetProof milk price at FrieslandCampina for the first time in 29 months. Cono's basic milk price is still lower, but the differences are visibly becoming smaller.
Cono keeps the integral milk price the same for February at €57,59 per 100 kilos. The basic milk price comes to €54,03 per 100 kilos. Including the maximum premiums that can be achieved, the payout price increases to €60,03 per 100 kilos. For the first time since March 2024, Cono has achieved a top 3 milk price in this segment. It is striking that Cono is above FrieslandCampina for the first time in 2,5 years in the maximum milk price comparator van Boerenbusiness.
Integrated milk price
In the past, the supporters of both cooperatives closely monitor each other's milk prices to test competitiveness. The integral milk price (factory average with maximum use of premiums such as grazing and Foqus Planet) of FrieslandCampina was still above that of Cono in February, but the difference is getting smaller. FrieslandCampina communicated an integral milk price of €58,21 per 100 kilos last month, while the actual paid milk price at Cono was €57,79.
In the meantime, FrieslandCampina has further reduced the milk price for March. If Cono succeeds in continuing the stable trend this month, the basic milk price will also exceed that of FrieslandCampina. The last time this happened was in September 2022.
