Organic supply cooperative Eko-Holland maintains milk prices for March at the same level for the fourth consecutive month. However, the payment price does not remain completely stable, according to a message from the cooperative.
The point is that the price now applies to a higher volume of milk that is delivered. Up until now, an annual delivery of 500.000 kilos was maintained, as of March this has been increased to 750.000 kilos per year. The average organic and biodynamic company is also becoming larger.
The net result of the adjustment is a slight reduction in the milk price of a few cents per 100 kilos, because the cost benefits of higher volumes are reduced.

Eko-Holland is the market leader for organic milk in the Netherlands. The largest part of the milk pool consists of 'regular' organic milk. In addition, Eko-Holland also collects and sells a smaller volume of biodynamic milk. The average compensation for this milk is €5,00 per 100 kilos higher than for regular organic milk, mainly because of the higher costs associated with its production.
