FrieslandCampina already books membership gains in Belgium
If the merger between FrieslandCampina and Milcobel becomes a fact at the end of this year, FrieslandCampina will gain hundreds of member companies, but even before the merger, members were added in Belgium. In 2024, this was 26, according to the cooperative annual report.

In the Netherlands and Germany, however, the number of member companies declined sharply, by a total of 442, can be readIn the Netherlands, 404 fewer member companies were counted last year than a year earlier, and in Germany 38 fewer.
The total milk supply decreased to just over 9 billion kilos, the average milk supply per farm increased by 10.603 kilos to 1.005.465 kilos.
Because the dairy company performed better again last year, the cooperative also performed better. The company repaid part of the money it had borrowed from the cooperative in 2023. As a result, the cooperative made a profit of €168 million last year, compared to a loss of €298 million in 2023.
Many FrieslandCampina members still own a considerable amount of member bonds. Last year, €877 million. Since 1 June 2024, part of this can be converted and sold, but much has not happened yet. In addition, around €750 million is tied up in delivery certificates. No interest was received on this. On the bonds, a total of €64 million.
