Milk supply has fallen further in February, both compared to previous months and compared to last year. In January, supply had already reached its lowest point in a year for that month. This time, the supply decline is even greater.
Compared to a year earlier, 10% less milk was supplied to factories in February than in the same month last year. Fat production held up somewhat better, but still fell by 8,9% compared to February 2024, when the month was one day longer due to a leap year.

Calculated by volume, almost 100 million kilos less was supplied in February this year than a year earlier. The fat supply was roughly 4.500 tonnes lower.
The government agency RVO does not provide any explanation for the new figures, but processors refer to the consequences of the bluetongue epidemic last year and possibly also the termination of various companies due to buy-ups and other nitrogen issues.
