DOC Kaas is the first to put a plus on the milk price this year, due to a well-running dairy market. The advance price for March will increase by more than €1. The increase will be done in consultation with parent company DMK in Germany.
The basic milk price will start the Milk Price Comparator of Boerenbusiness by €1,07 per 100 kilos to €54,08 per 100 kilos. The pasture milk price increases to €55,58 per 100 kilos, the maximum milk price goes to €61,08 per 100 kilos. These prices apply to an annual delivery of 1 million kilos, excluding VAT and after payment of the contribution for ZuivelNL.
The increase in the milk price comes as a surprise, but not entirely. The cheese price, which is of great importance to DOC Cheese and DMK, has been rising for some time, in Germany even more than in the Netherlands. In addition, the price for high-quality whey ingredients has been quite high for a long time. Milk fat also remains expensive.
Perhaps surprisingly, DMK and DOC Cheese are the first to come up with an increase, although in the past DOC Cheese was often one of the first processors to benefit from rising foil cheese prices.
