The Belgian dairy cooperative Laiterie des Ardennes (LDA) is keeping the milk price for April the same as for the previous three months, following the example of Arla (which is also sticking to its chosen line in May). However, LDA is paying a higher milk price for April than the originally Scandinavian cooperative.
For an annual supply of 1,3 million litres of milk, LDA pays a milk price of €52,67 per 100 litres. This is the milk price at real Belgian contents of 4,3% fat and 3,5% protein. Including surcharges and a standard additional payment of 90 cents per 100 litres, members can earn up to €1,85 per 100 litres.
With the milk price now established, LDA is, according to the Belgian Milk Price Comparator of Boerenbusiness still a solid mid-range on a monthly basis. It is visible that many other processors in Belgium are raising their milk prices again. Arla meanwhile keeps the milk price stable for the fifth month in a row.
