Belgian Milcobel increases the milk price for May, just like most other major players on the Belgian market. At the same time, the company's milk price drops slightly relative to other players.
The Dutch players on the Belgian market have increased the milk price for May more. Arla is still keeping the milk price the same, as can be seen from the Belgian Milk Price Comparator van Boerenbusiness.
The standard milk price at the legal Belgian contents is increased by 75 cents to €50,25 per 100 litres. The price at an annual supply of 1,3 million litres and at real contents comes to €52,96 per 100 litres for May. On top of that, €1,00 can be earned in sustainability surcharge.
According to Milcobel, a maximum of €54,84 per 100 litres can be earned, but that is only for the very large volumes from 2,7 million litres per year.
Milcobel is doing its best to pay a good milk price for its members, but according to the board of directors, much more than the current increase does not seem feasible, as appears from an explanation. The board sees rippling dairy markets, with supply and demand in reasonable balance. That also gives relative stability to dairy prices.
