The provisional index for June is now €55,75 per 100 kilos, the final index for May has come out at €55,44 per 100 kilos. That is 18 cents lower than first expected.

The reason is that some processors who publish their prices later in the month have set lower milk prices than the processors who published their prices early.

The index has risen by €1,05 per 100 kilos in May. The provisional index increase for June is only 31 cents per 100 kilos.

The small increase in the index is not surprising, because many processors have only increased their prices slightly, and an increasing number have also kept the milk price stable. In addition to Arla, this included Cono, DOC Cheese and Hochwald Foods.

The index is calculated on an annual basis based on the milk volume of the eight separate processors that are also included in the Boerenbusiness Milk price comparatorThe index is based on these prices for farm milk, excluding allowances and premiums for, among other things, grazing and other sustainability goals.
