The dairy market continues to seek direction, based on the latest GDT auction. The average index fell slightly, but insignificantly. Powder prices are slightly under pressure, otherwise there seems to be little line in the price movements per product. Cheese moves up and down quite wildly.
An example is cheddar. The price of this product was in a nosedive at the two previous GDT auctions, but is recovering strongly this week, while mozzarella prices picked up a bit last time, but are now falling again.
Prices remain at a fairly high level on average, but at this week's GDT auction less product was sold, while the expectation would be that the volume to be sold will increase. After all, sales are already being made for the new production season 2025/26.
