FrieslandCampina sees milk price fall modestly

28 July 2025 - Klaas van der Horst

FrieslandCampina is bringing the milk price down. Following a stable milk price in July, a modest reduction will follow in August. According to the company, this move stems from the expectation that the reference companies will slightly reduce their payments for conventional farm milk, in line with developments in the dairy market.

In the Netherlands, the reduction is 50 cents per 100 kilos, bringing the guaranteed price to €56,25 per 100 kilos, and the base price to €55,41. In Belgium, the reduction is 49 cents, bringing the price to €53,79 per 100 liters.

The organic milk price will remain unchanged. The guaranteed organic price will remain at €66,50, but in practice, FrieslandCampina's organic dairy farmers will receive a net increase of €5,00 per 100 kilos of milk as of August. This is because the summer levy (€4,00) ended in July, and a winter surcharge (+€1,00) takes effect in August. The base price will therefore increase from €62,42 to €67,42 per 100 kilos.
