Cono Cheesemakers is acquiring Jacques' Kruidenboter, a small butter producer in North Holland. The Den Helder-based company has been in business for approximately 45 years, according to its own statements, and specializes in butter products, some with other ingredients, and white cheese.
The acquisition price has not been disclosed. The company's turnover is also unknown. With approximately 30 employees, Jacques' Herb Butter over the years has become a renowned player in the regional dairy sector, it is reported.
Cono sees the acquisition as a valuable addition and a strengthening of its own operations. The cheesemaker from Beemster is also venturing somewhat outside its traditional boundaries with this purchase, albeit on a modest scale. Until now, Cono has limited itself to making and selling natural and branded cheeses such as Beemster and Stompetoren. By-products like whey and cream are sold to third parties.
