After nine months of stagnation, Arla Foods is ending its stable pricing for conventional milk. The milk price for September is being lowered. No specific reason was given, but CEO Peter Turborgh expressed the expectation during the presentation of the half-year results on Thursday that milk prices would gradually decline in the coming months. He noted that many dairy companies had already lowered their prices slightly.
With the presentation of the milk price for September, Arla is now fulfilling its expectations. For conventional milk in the Netherlands, the adjustment amounts to a price reduction of €1,14 per 100 kilos. As a result, the base price for an annual supply of 1 million kilos comes to €52,21 per 100 kilos, according to the Boerenbusiness Milk price comparator. This is the price excluding VAT and at Dutch standard values.
In Belgium, the current milk price dropped by €1,03 to €50,71 per 100 liters. This is the price based on different fat and protein contents and an annual supply of 1,3 million liters.

Note: the Belgian milk price follows the right Y-axis.
The organic milk price, on the other hand, gets a small boost, rising by 9 cents to €70,51 per 100 kilos.
