Arla limits milk price decline, suddenly a good payer

31 October 2025 - Klaas van der Horst

Arla Foods is lowering its milk price for November, in line with the trend. However, the Northern European dairy giant is opting for a controlled reduction of just €3,17 per 100 kilos. As a result, Arla is suddenly no longer one of the lower payers and has become a relatively good payer.

When it comes to lowering milk prices, FrieslandCampina has already fallen much further. Other dairy companies are also now paying lower prices.

The milk price Arla pays for conventional milk in the Netherlands will decrease by €3,17 to €46,97 per 100 kilos from November 2025. This means that Arla's base price will exceed FrieslandCampina's price for the first time this year, as also shown by the Boerenbusiness Dutch Milk price calculatorThe base price applies to an annual supply of 1 million kilos, excluding VAT. This price also excludes Vlog and sustainability. The maximum amount received per 100 kilos is €52,97.

In Belgium, the current milk price is €45,59 per 100 liters, based on an annual supply of 1,3 million liters. This is €3,11 less than was paid in October.

The organic milk price remains unchanged in both the Netherlands and Belgium. In the Netherlands, the organic milk price for November is €71,10 per 100 kilos, based on an annual supply of 1 million kilos.
