The new KWS maize variety range for 2026

25 November 2025

After a beautiful spring and a favorable growing season, corn was sown and harvested early this year. However, there were challenges: heat and drought, especially in the south, led to early ripening in several locations. This underscores the importance of being prepared for (local) climate extremes. This presents a crucial task for breeders: developing varieties that can withstand diverse growing and weather conditions. Discover what KWS has to offer this coming season!

KWS also offers a wide range of silage and grain maize varieties in the new season, boasting high yields, excellent feed value, and fast maturation. Innovations like EnergyBoost maize also increase the energy efficiency of your forage.

Your variety choice determines not only the quality of the ration but also the financial result. That's why KWS selects varieties based on timely grain maturity, high feed value per kilogram of dry matter per hectare, and strong agronomic characteristics. Early-maturing and ultra-early varieties with low FAO values offer additional advantages: harvest before September 1st, space for a catch crop, and compliance with the rest crop requirement.

Ultra-early to very early maize: certainty and flexibility
Want to reduce risks and guarantee harvest security? Then choose ultra-early or very early varieties. These varieties mature faster without significantly compromising yield. Ideal for fields with lower temperatures, short growing periods, or wet conditions. These varieties also offer a solution when an early harvest is mandatory or you want to spread out harvesting periods.

Top varieties for the coming season:

  • EnergyBoost varieties: KWS Nevo and KWS Allinno
  • Well-known names: KWS Curacao, KWS Exelon, Papageno and KWS Marcopolo
  • Newcomers: KWS Giso, KWS Aveso and Concierto

KWS Giso It's the earliest variety in the range and ideal as a rest crop or simply for a timely harvest. This allows the field to be sown in a timely manner with a catch crop, a green manure, or grass (clover). KWS Giso combines fast ripening with a healthy residual plant and excellent feed value. KWS Allinno (FAO 210) excels in grain yield, stalk rot resistance and versatility: suitable for silage maize, MKS, CCM and dry grain maize.

Early and mid-early varieties
No harvest deadline, but still want a guaranteed harvest? Choose early varieties like KWS Emporio, Megusto KWS, and Genialis KWS.

For those who want to utilize the entire growing season, mid-early varieties such as KWS Arturello (EnergyBoost, 100% Dent), Haiko, Agrolupo, and KWS Camillo are ideal. These varieties deliver maximum feed value and are suitable for both silage and grain maize.
