Cheesemaker Lactalis Leerdammer is following the pattern set by other processors in the Netherlands with its December milk price. After several substantial reductions, the December price will decrease slightly more modestly.
In total, Lactalis is lowering Leerdammer for December by €2,43 per 100 kilos to a base price of €42,77. This puts this price 11 cents above FrieslandCampina's base price and 6 cents below provisional leader Arla, as also shown by the Boerenbusiness Dutch Milk price calculator.
On average, Leerdammer pays a base price of €52,79 per 100 kilos throughout the year. This is slightly less than the two current leaders, A-ware and FrieslandCampina. Arla is slightly lower at €51,50, but this is supplemented by a guaranteed additional payment of €2,00.
The milk prices listed are based on an annual supply of 1 million kilos and exclude VAT and the ZuvelNL contribution. For companies with an annual supply of 1,2 million kilos or more, the volume surcharge increases by €0,80 per 100 kilos.
