The Belgian dairy cooperative LDA managed to limit the milk price drop for November to €2,57 per 100 liters. This is a more modest reduction than most competitors in Belgium have implemented.
The average milk price reduction in November in Belgium amounted to €5,46 per 100 liters, according to the Boerenbusiness Belgian milk price calculator.
The average base price of the six largest processors in the country fell from €47,86 to €42,40 per 100 liters. LDA's milk price fell less than the rest, with a reduction of €2,57, but the base price remains relatively low at €39,84 per 100 liters. Only Milcobel paid 48 cents less per 100 liters in November.
LDA has managed to keep the fall in milk prices relatively limited by reducing the share of milk powder in the product range and by producing more other products, such as cheese.
