Infant nutrition producer Ausnutria has appointed Remco Zieleman as Chief Executive Officer (CEO), effective January 15, 2026. He succeeds Richard Hickson, who will take on a new international challenge as CEO at New Zealand-based Synlait in February.
Like Ausnutria, this company is majority-owned by China. Bright Dairy holds 65% of Synlait's shares. Ausnutria is over 60% owned by the Chinese dairy giant Yili.
Zieleman is a familiar face at Ausnutria: he's been with the company for eight years and is now Director of Operations & Supply Chain. He previously worked at infant nutrition manufacturer Abbot in Zwolle, among others.
With his extensive knowledge of the organization and the market, he is excellently positioned to lead the company, according to Ausnutria.
The handover of duties between Hickson and Zieleman will be completed in the coming weeks.
