Arla lowers milk price, but brings organic to peak

Arla Foods, like FrieslandCampina, is significantly lowering its standard milk price for January. Here too, the milk price starts with a three. At the same time, the organic milk price is moving in a different direction. Here, the price is actually slightly higher, reaching a historic high.

For organic milk, a segment in which Arla has a strong position, the Northwestern European cooperative pays an additional €2,07 per 100 kilos. This means that the base price for organic milk at Arla in the Netherlands is, according to the Boerenbusiness organic milk price comparator at €71,65 per 100 kilos. By comparison, FrieslandCampina lowered its organic milk price for January by €1,71 per 100 kilos to a base price of €69,72 per 100 kilos. 

The Netherlands and Belgium
Arla's current milk price is actually falling, and by a slightly larger amount than FrieslandCampina's. However, Arla still pays a slightly higher price. In the Netherlands, Arla's price reduction is €4,23 per 100 kilos, bringing the price to €38,60 per 100 kilos, based on an annual supply of 1 million kilos. In Belgium, the milk price drops by €4,10 to €37,42 per 100 liters, based on an annual supply of 1,3 million liters.
