The data shows that the average basic milk price in Belgium in 2025 was €50,38 per 100 kilos. This is based on actual Belgian milk contents of 4,3% fat and 3,5% protein, and an annual supply of 1,3 million liters. The three Dutch processors paid an above-average milk price.

Above average
With an average milk price of €52,26 per 100 kilos, A-ware tops the list. From April through October, A-ware held a comfortable lead. In some months, the difference with the lowest price in the Milk Price Comparison tool was over €6 per 100 kilos. FrieslandCampina follows in second place with an average milk price of €51,32 per 100 kilos. Third place goes to Vreugdenhil Dairy Foods, which paid an average of €50,63 per 100 kilos to Belgian suppliers last year.

Below average
Arla, Milcobel, and Laiterie des Ardennes (LDA) follow in fourth, fifth, and sixth place, respectively. 2025 was the last year Milcobel operated independently; the dairy cooperative has since merged with FrieslandCampina. This offers Milcobel members the prospect of a better milk price. FrieslandCampina's milk price was on average €1,86 higher in 2025. Moreover, FrieslandCampina has been paying more generous supplementary payments in recent years. However, the merger is expected to slightly lower FrieslandCampina's milk price in 2026, as the merger process also entails costs. Incidentally, FrieslandCampina still has over 100 suppliers in Belgium who are not eligible for supplementary payments. Furthermore, before the merger with Milcobel, there were over 100 members.

Additional payments are still to come
Belgian members of Arla will receive a better milk price in 2025 than the ranking suggests. The Scandinavian dairy cooperative guarantees its members an annual supplementary payment of approximately €2 per 100 kilos, bringing the average milk price to almost €52. LDA also paid a supplementary payment in 2024, netting €1,90. For the cooperative's members in Wallonia, this means there's a chance the milk price will ultimately rise to well over €50 per 100 kilos.
