Cono Cheesemakers members will not receive an advance payment for the past year. The cooperative announced this this week.

In a message to members, Cono stated that last year as much of the milk money as possible was paid out simultaneously with the advance payment, meaning that there was no advance payment in January, as the cooperative often does in other years.

This doesn't automatically mean there won't be a final back payment in April, Cono stated in a statement when asked. There's no standard policy regarding the relationship between an advance back payment and a final back payment. Last year, Cono paid a back payment of €1,23 per 100 kilos of milk, plus €0,25 in membership fees.

Actual milk price
Cono's actual milk price (factory average) will average €55,17 per 100 kilos in 2025. To put this into perspective, it's best compared with the actual milk price at A-ware and the integrated milk price at FrieslandCampina. These averaged €56,91 and €57,39 per 100 kilos, respectively, in 2025.

Cono lagged behind somewhat, particularly during the summer months. In the fourth quarter, the Beemster cheese producer recovered, as the value of bulk dairy products plummeted. Cono, due to its specialization in branded cheeses, is less susceptible to this.
