A-ware is lowering its milk price for February, but the base milk price is falling faster than the average price. This is because a growing number of suppliers are involved in milk flows with additional added value, which mitigates the impact of the reduction.
The latest reduction lowers the basic milk price by €1,60 to €36,92 per 100 kilos. To be clear: this is not the price for "traditional" milk or farm milk, but the basic price without premiums and based on an annual supply of 1 million kilos.
The WP, the average paid milk price, is decreasing by €1,45 per 100 kilos, or 15 cents. This is because a larger portion of the supplied milk is in a category with additional added value (Better for, Cow conscious, but not organic). Supplements are mitigating the price drop. According to the Boerenbusiness common milk price comparator works out at €44,42 per 100 kilos.
The organic milk price for February will also decrease by €2,50 per 100 kilos. This will lower the basic price in the Organic Milk Price Comparator van Boerenbusiness to €65,80 per 100 kilos.
