Royal A-ware is acquiring dairy distributor Global Dairy Ventures (GDV) from private equity investor Abac Capital. This move strengthens A-ware's market position in Southern Europe and further expands its product portfolio. The acquisition price has not been disclosed.
GDV is a distributor of specialty cheese and dairy products in Southern Europe. The Barcelona-based company connects European premium cheese and dairy producers with customers in retail and foodservice, among others. GDV consists of three divisions: Iberconseil, Disalp, and Adonis, all market leaders in their respective segments. Together, they serve a large number of customers with a broad product portfolio, primarily in Spain, Portugal, and Italy.
A-ware has been active in Spain, Portugal, and Italy for several years, with a sales office and various production and packaging locations. "With the acquisition of GDV, we are strengthening our market position in Southern Europe and can offer customers an even more complete product portfolio. GDV was a logical choice because of its long-standing supplier relationships, strong customer trust, and efficient distribution network," says Antonio Rodriguez, CEO of Royal A-ware.
The takeover has no consequences for the existing management and will be completed in the coming weeks.
