A-ware wants to grow in organic milk and starts a recruitment campaign

25 February 2026 - Klaas van der Horst

Royal A-ware sees increased sales opportunities for organic dairy products and is seeking additional milk. Existing suppliers interested in switching can apply first, but the company also wants to attract new suppliers to meet the anticipated demand.

This is according to COO Klaas de Jong and Livestock Manager Koen Veldman. They say there's initially room for tens of millions of liters more milk. The plan is to process that milk into cheese and other dairy products. "We're seeing increasing demand from both domestic and international customers."

A-ware is not just looking for extra organic milk, the plan is to have organic milk with a plus - on top the current organic milk price to allow for inflow. Because this concerns dairy for specific customers, organic milk is required according to certain market concepts (such as "Better For" and "Cow Conscious"). De Jong and Veldman cannot yet reveal which ones, but it will become clear within a few weeks.

This also doesn't reveal what the reward will be for participating in one of the market concepts. De Jong notes in this regard that USDA-grade milk is also being sought, a product that commands a substantial premium from competitors.
