Lactalis Leerdammer is the first Dutch processor to slightly lower its milk price for March. However, the cheesemaker remains modest, keeping its base price slightly above that of FrieslandCampina. This also makes it the highest payer for March for the time being.
The new base milk price for Lactalis Leerdammer is €38,19 per 100 kilos. This is 35 cents less than the price for February, but still 3 cents per 100 kilos above the base price of FrieslandCampina, according to the Boerenbusiness milk price comparator.
However, Lactalis has less of an upward trend. The maximum milk price for an annual supply of 1 million kilos is €41,39, while the maximum at FrieslandCampina is €43,16 per 100 kilos.
Cono Cheesemakers
This week, Cono Cheesemakers also presented the company's weighted average milk price for February. This price is 92 cents lower than that for January. This should result in a base price for February of €40,14 per 100 kilos. This would be the highest base price for that month. While Hochwald's milk price has yet to be announced, it was already higher than Cono's for January.
