Hochwald sees slight drop in milk price in February

Hochwald Foods in Bolsward has lowered its milk price for February slightly more than the average for the month, thus decreasing slightly. However, the base price remains above average.

The new milk price is €38,58 per 100 kilos, which is €1,50 less than the milk price for January. The average milk price decrease for February is €1,07 per 100 kilos, according to the Boerenbusiness Milk price comparator.   

Hochwald Foods suppliers can receive a maximum of €42,28 per 100 kilos of milk. This applies to Dutch standard milk content, excluding VAT and after deduction of the contribution to ZuivelNL. 

The highest basic milk price is once again firmly in the hands of Cono Cheesemakers. Their members receive a basic price of €40,14 per 100 kilos for February. This is 92 cents less than in January, but also €2,08 higher than the average basic price for February. Hochwald comes in behind Cono with a basic price of €38,58. 

Hochwald Foods entered into a strategic partnership with FrieslandCampina over a year and a half ago to collaborate on condensed milk. According to the plan, FrieslandCampina's sweetened condensed milk production will be moved to Hochwald in Bolsward starting June 1, 2026. In return, FrieslandCampina will produce condensed milk in Leeuwarden for the Bolsward plant. The Leeuwarden site is currently being downsized, as announced.
