For the first time this year, the Global Dairy Trade shows no further price increase, while milk powders show significant divergence. The price picture remains mixed and keeps the market moving. Read more about price developments at the dairy auction.
With a gain of 0,1%, the average price rises to $4.330 per ton. Compared to the previous auctions with clear gains, the picture is now calmer. However, after ten consecutive declines, the trading volume shows an increase to 19.500 tons.
Milk powders are attracting attention with a contradictory price picture. Skimmed milk powder rises by 5,2% to $3.409 per ton, the highest level since October 2022. A price increase of nearly 40% has been visible since mid-December. Prices are higher the further into the future delivery contracts lie.
After five consecutive increases, whole milk powder falls by 4% to $3.709 per ton. European product, offered by Solarec, traded at the highest price.
Otherwise, the trading picture is quiet, with the exception of AMF, which is up 6,4% to $7.602 per ton. Butter falls 0,9% to $6.868 per ton. Cheddar and mozzarella rise by 0,1% and 0,5% respectively to $4.925 and $4.208 per ton.
