Arla milk price increase starting in May

Arla Foods did not raise the milk price in April, but is nevertheless aiming for a significant increase in May. However, the company remains more cautious than a number of Dutch dairy companies, which already announced substantial price increases in early April.

For the company as a whole, Arla is increasing the standard milk price by €2,00 per 100 kilos. This applies to the fat and protein levels used by Arla within the company. Translated to the Dutch situation, the increase amounts to €2,08 per 100 kilos and results in a base price of €38,74, based on an annual delivery of 1 million kilos. In Belgium, the increase amounts to €2,09 per 100 kilos, meaning that according to the Belgian milk price calculator van Boerenbusiness a base price of €37,46 per 100 liters results. This price applies to an annual delivery of 1,3 million liters.

Meanwhile, the price of organic milk is not rising, but is dropping in the Netherlands by €2,95 to €67,05 per 100 kilos. Prices on the organic market are under pressure. Seasonal surcharges are also decreasing.
