Now that peace has completely returned to manure land, attention is slowly being turned to the possibilities that this season still has in the field of applying manure. Spring itself went very well, but time was short. This may mean that there must still be sufficient manure space in arable farming. However, how much is the question.
A lot of grass has been harvested last week and this week. Contractors and intermediaries were therefore able to continue spreading manure. The last maize plots have now also been supplied with manure, so the time has come to see how much manure space there is that can still be used this season.
Storage sufficient
There is sufficient space to temporarily store the manure, but intermediaries want to have some sales certainty in return. It is still too early to use that space for manure that cannot be removed until next spring. However, there is a positive expectation regarding the manure space available in arable farming. How this will be used will partly depend on the availability of the plots. A wet autumn could have a negative impact.
Prices don't drop
The calm in the market this week translates into unchanged for cattle slurry and a very slight increase in collection contributions for fattening pig slurry can be observed.
