The collection contributions for pig slurry do not want to decrease after the start of the spreading season. This is expected to happen from mid-March.
Only collection contributions in the south region have started to decline slightly since mid-February. On average, pig farmers in the south region pay €25,50 per cubic meter. That is approximately €0,30 more per cubic meter than in the same period last year.
Price lower in the middle region
In the central region, the collection contribution for fattening pig manure has remained unchanged since the end of January (€24,33 per cubic meter). That is almost €2 per cubic meter less than in the same period in 2017. This is due to the decline in the number of pigs and some new manure processing initiatives in the central region.

Wet and cold
At the start of the spreading season on February 1, it was initially too wet to go onto the land. It only happened out of necessity. The country then froze due to a prolonged cold spell, which is expected to end by the end of this week. It is possible that the spreading of manure can then really start and prices can also drop somewhat.
