The court in Den Bosch has demanded prison terms of 18 months against 6 suspects of manure fraud. The main suspect, a 48-year-old man from North Brabant, is demanding a prison sentence of 4 years.

The suspects are suspected of facilitating large-scale manure fraud between 2010 and 2014. This would involve an amount of €15 million, writes Omroep Brabant† An investigation by the Dutch Food and Consumer Product Safety Authority (NVWA) shows that the suspects committed fraud for financial reasons.

Session still running
The suspects may have to repay this amount, but the court has yet to rule on this. The hearing will resume on Friday, June 28.
