An early grain harvest allowed contractors and intermediaries to start spreading manure early, which means the market is currently relaxed. If the manure market could make one comment, it would be the spreading of manure on grass plots. The conditions are too dry for this.

The drought also has consequences for grass production, which means that the next cut is harvested later and therefore the application of manure is later. The supply of cattle slurry is greater than the supply of pig slurry. Processing the manure is often not an option due to the efficiency, so it often disappears into the silo. Slurry manure can be spread until mid September, which gives enough time to empty the manure pits sufficiently.

Remediation scheme
It is difficult to say what awaits fertilizer prices in the near future. In view of the stopper scheme, a large number of companies will stop at the end of 2019. There does not seem to be much enthusiasm to continue working and investing in various housing systems that comply with the new rules. A drastic reduction in the livestock population can be expected.

Significant investments have been made in manure processing, which will change the character of the manure market. More than in previous years, the timely recording of manure will become an important point of attention for arable farmers. Technically speaking, with more demand and less supply, the collection contributions will decrease and with it the amount to be paid.
