The collection amounts of manure have generally remained stable in recent weeks. Now that the first grain parcels have been harvested, that may be about to change.
Contractors and intermediaries have gradually started spreading manure again, after activity had been at a low level in the previous weeks. The supply of pig slurry is limited, while the supply of cattle slurry is increasing somewhat.
The DCA quotations for both fattening pig slurry and cattle slurry have hardly moved since week 13. Depending on the weather conditions, it is likely that the fertilizer market will come to life more in the near future now that the first grain plots have been harvested. This means that a slight price drop is likely, as historically often occurs in August.
