The manure season started in mid-February, but it did not get off to a smooth start. The wet weather spoiled the market and in many places manure could not be spread. The bad weather conditions continued and caused several manure silos to become overcrowded.

The market needed dry weather. In mid-March the weather reports improved and this provided relief to the market. The better weather continued and the spring rotation could therefore be completed successfully. The first grass cut then offered the manure market some breathing space, which ensured that the remaining stock of manure could also be spread. The grain harvest then brought the fertilizer market back to life.

The end of the spreading season is now approaching. There is still some manure supply left, the supply of cattle slurry is wider than the supply of fattening pig liquid manure. The DCA quotes show little fluctuation this week.

Fattening pig slurry
The average collection amount of fattening pig slurry increased slightly this week in the south region, €23,33 per tonne. This cautious increase is due to a price increase in Deurne, where the price increases to €24. This makes Deurne a leader in the region. Furthermore, the prices remain unchanged and Tilburg continues to have the lowest price at €22,50.

In the central region, all prices remain unchanged this week. The average collection amount remains €20,33 per tonne. Lichtenvoorde still has the highest price at €21, the lowest price is €19,50 in Barneveld.

Cattle Slurry
As far as the collection amounts for cattle slurry are concerned, the entire market remains stable. In the south region, the average collection amount remains €16,33. With the highest price in Tilburg at €17,50 and the lowest price in Deurne at €15,50. In the central region the average price remains €14,67. The highest price remains here in Lichtenvoorde at €16 and the lowest price in Barneveld at €13,50.
