Cabinet does not present a nitrogen plan on Budget Day

17 September 2021 - Linda van Eekeres

The outgoing cabinet will not present a nitrogen policy on Budget Day. The coalition parties cannot agree on additional nitrogen rules to limit emissions, it reports AD† Parts of the Budget Day documents have already been leaked.

The intention was to present nitrogen plans on the third Tuesday of September. Officials were busy working out several nitrogen-limiting plans for agriculture. Like the two scenarios that the cabinet recently passed on by the PBL and in which, in addition to buying out farmers, expropriation also plays a prominent role. The outgoing cabinet now passes the ball to the new cabinet to be formed.

BBB is not coming
Caroline van der Plas, Member of Parliament for the BoerBurgerBeweging, told the President of the House last week that she sees no added value in physically attending Prinsjesdag because of the continuous leaking of plans to the press, including that of expropriating farmers.
