The royal road to a rational manure policy

Our queen will open the 'Groene Mineralen Centrale' in Beltrum, located in the Achterhoek, on Wednesday 4 September. The project thus gets the attention of a wide audience and it deserves it. After all, it is a system innovation with great social significance.

This Groene Mineralen Centrale can be seen as a first step towards a national network of provincial utility companies that, in addition to biogas production, will also be involved in the collection and valorisation of residual flows for use as precision fertilizers. This gives our agricultural sector access to fertilizers that achieve top yields.

The fertilizers are suitable for placement in the root zone of various crops (in the right form, at the right/right time and in the right dosage). All this without losses to the environment.

Climate agreement
Because of the latter denominator, precision fertilization is high on the list of measures for the agricultural sector. Precision fertilization is also discussed in the Climate Agreement. It also figures, for example, in the action plans to comply with the Nitrates Directive.

With regard to the latter directive, the Ministry of Agriculture, Nature and Food Quality is currently busy formulating a new policy. This new policy should encourage little fraud and should also be effective in achieving low nitrate levels in soil and surface water. The Green Minerals Plant scores high on both aspects.

Not sensitive to washout
On the one hand, the collecting and distributing function of minerals makes it possible to monitor the mineral flows, and on the other hand, the Green Minerals Plant mainly supplies ammonium-containing nitrogen fertilizers, which are not sensitive to leaching. This way, the contours of a rational manure policy will become visible next Wednesday, September 4: the royal road.

use??? agriculture has always done it and is being fished out as an evil doer, think that we are ready for the next 25 years, the buffer and ambition of the Dutch farmer is empty. it's been pushed down our throats far too much already. time for the aviation/industry/traffic to do something..... nothing has happened there for 25 years so it has to be repaired in the right place and not in a sector that is already ready for the future

Where the most voters work, the least is pruned. And the CDA has betrayed its supporters.
