Roughage tour Week 16

Dairy farmers busy preparing plots

22 April 2021 - Erik van der Deure

Preparations for the various crops are in full swing. The fields for maize and fodder beets have been fertilized and are being prepared for sowing. Maintenance is carried out on the grassland plots.

It is busy on the plots of the Boerenbusiness Roughage tour participants. Most fodder beets have been sown and the first maize seed is expected to go in next week. The soil temperature leaves much to be desired, but in a number of places in the country it is just above 10 degrees.
