Agrometius, the Dutch importer of Trimble, among others, opens a branch in Germany. After restructuring the German distribution network, the company was approached to take on sales and service in the federal states of North Rhine-Westphalia, Lower Saxony and Schleswig-Holstein, Hamburg and Bremen.
Agrometius already has a branch in De Meern in the Netherlands and Sint-Truiden in Belgium for the Benelux import of Trimble, Veris and Pessl. Director Dennis Nijland considers the move to the east logical: 'We see it as a great compliment that Trimble has asked us. It is a step that fits the objective of our company. There are many similarities between companies in western Germany and the Benelux. For example in crops such as potatoes, onions and open field vegetables.'
German employees only
The branch in Lippetal-Herzfeld, North Rhine-Westphalia, is centrally located in the new dealer area and is run entirely by German employees. They are familiar with their home market, customer requirements and legislation. The first employees are now active. In the coming period, the team will be expanded with sales, support and service employees.
Ambition of Royal Reesink
In the coming months, Agrometius is preparing to offer a total package in Germany. In addition to Trimble GPS systems, they also offer Veris soil sensors, Pessl moisture sensors and Optisurface systems for drainage. It expects a lot of demand, especially in West Germany, due to the cultivation of intensive crops. The company's knowledge fits in well with that.
Agrometius was acquired by Royal Reesink in August 2015. The company, best known for importing Trimble equipment, split from Geometius in 2010. This company focuses on the sale of Trimble technology within ground, road and hydraulic engineering. Given the ambitions of parent company Reesink, and their firm foothold within the agricultural sector, it is probably not the latest expansion news.
