Agreement in principle reached

Reesink takes over machine builder Staja

13 April 2017 - Clarisse van der Woude

Royal Reesink, importer of Kuhn agricultural machines and owner of Claas importer Kamps de Wild, acquires machine builder Staja.

Reesink made Thursday afternoon 13 April known that an agreement in principle has been reached with the shareholders of Staja about the acquisition of all shares in the capital of Staja Beheer BV. This also applies to the associated companies Staja Machinebouw BV and Staja Constructie BV

Increasing need for location for production and assembly

Staya already produces Kaweco transport trucks and machines for manure processing for Royal Reesink. The 2 companies have had business ties for many years. Staja was founded in 1976, located in Hengelo (Gelderland) and has approximately 60 employees.

Large diversity
Staja Machinebouw mainly focuses on the production of agricultural machines. Staja Constructie produces a wide variety of steel products, especially for other departments within Staja, but also directly to machine manufacturers, for example. Staja Wapening BV and Eureka-Staja BV are not part of the transaction and will continue independently.

Set up knowledge center
The acquisition offers Reesink opportunities to meet the increasing need for a well-equipped organization and location for production and assembly activities. A need that was reinforced with the recent acquisition of Lalesse Europe; a supplier of warehouse cranes and complete warehouse systems. In addition, according to Reesink, the takeover fits in with the intention to set up a knowledge center that can put its development power at the service of Royal Reesink.

The transaction is expected to be completed in the summer of 2017. Wednesday, April 11, CEO Gerrit van der Scheer announced in an interview NBR to buy a machine factory, but which one he kept in the middle at the time.
