Monsanto failed to acquire subsidiary Precision Planting LLC to machine manufacturer John Deere to sell, but a new buyer has been found in Agco. Both parties made that on Wednesday 26 July worldly.
Agco sees the acquisition as an opportunity to sell Precision Planting's technology in even more markets than it currently does. Especially the larger arable farms. The company behind the Fendt, Massey Ferguson, Valtra and Challenger brands has a network of dealers and distributors in 150 countries.
It has not been disclosed how much has been paid for the supplier of the precision sowing technology of Monsanto subsidiary Climate Corporation. The competition authorities also have yet to give their approval.
