The Danish company Bogballe, specialized in the construction of fertilizer spreaders, has been sold to investment company Erhvervsinvest. The brand remains Danish. The Laursen family owned the company for 83 years.
Erhvervsinvest pays 500 million Danish kroner, converted €67,23 million, for Bogballe, Maskinbladet writes.
Focus on export
The investment company says it wants to grow further with the brand. Bogballe currently has 70 employees and a factory site that covers 2 hectares. About 95% of the turnover comes from machine exports. The turnover in the past 5 years amounted to €23,53 million.
Not the first agricultural investment
The buyer is not unfamiliar with the agricultural sector. In 2016 it bought the Danish manufacturer Agrometer. This company produces machines for slurry application. In the past it has also had companies in its portfolio from the seed breeding and horticultural sector.
