French supplier Sencrop is introducing a new online weather station, which allows growers to share information with colleagues in their region. The Dutch introduction of the SIMA-awarded meteorological network will take place during PotatoEurope.
The weather station, which measures precipitation, temperature, humidity, wind speed and wind direction, is already being used by more than 1.000 French arable farmers and is currently being tested by a group of Dutch arable farmers. A special feature is the option to share weather information with colleagues in the region. Linking the information from weather stations at different locations creates a good picture of the weather situation in a region.
Linking and sharing data
There is also the option of linking data to specific advice systems. They decide themselves with whom the users want to share the information. With this option, the Sencrop can be used by individual arable farmers, but also by study groups or consultancy companies.
Real time on smartphone
Furthermore, the Sencrop system is distinguished by the precision and reliability of the high-quality smart sensors. The information that the weather station measures with certified accuracy is sent via an LPWAN network and is visible to the arable farmer in real time. The current information is displayed numerically and graphically via a web application and/or an app.
It is also possible to consult the historical information, as well as to make a link with the weather forecast for the coming days.
