SBG Precision Farming will officially bear the name of Raven Europe from Monday 21 August. The company announced this on Wednesday, August 23 via Twitter.
The company was already acquired in 2014 by Raven Industries, but is only now taking over the name of the company. At the time, the acquisition was worth $7,5 million (€5,4 million). SBG is active in the development and sale of rtk GPS systems for agriculture.
Changes in 2014
The company did make some changes in 2014 after the acquisition. Thus it created a new logo: "SBG powered by Raven". Internally, there was already talk of the new name. However, it has not yet been used to the outside world. SBG did use Raven's display (Viper 2015) from January 4.
There is an increasing need to bring out the right name. The turnover of Raven products continues to increase and the company is also doing more and more business in the rest of Europe. "SBG is a well-known brand for the Netherlands, but Raven is much better known worldwide. We will soon be presenting a new product and that was the time for us to implement the name change," says Robert Sleutel, of SBG/Raven Europe.
