The app 'Cow to Wow' has won a prize of €2.000 during the tech event Bright Day. The self-learning app collects all data on the dairy farm and combines it in 1 dashboard. According to the creators, this is unique. It should give the farmer peace of mind.
The systems on the dairy farm are the best at generating data. Think of the milking robot, the manure robot and the feeding robot. They usually run on their own operating system and dashboard. Cow to Wow tries to combine all data in 1 app. This way you have an overview at a glance. According to the jury, which awarded the app first prize, the app coaches the dairy farmer. The creators receive €1 to further develop it.
Compete for best dairy cattle app
In addition to robots, drones and self-driving cars, the tech event organized BrightDay, in the Utrecht Jaarbeurs, also a so-called Cow Hackathon; 4 teams competed for the best dairy farming app. Sustainable Dairy Chain, an initiative of NZO and LTO, is the organizer of the meeting.
Sustainable Dairy Chain made data available to the programmers to help them develop an app. The data had to be applied to increase animal welfare and improve the environment.
