Ministry does not agree

No delay for new vehicle regulations

14 March 2018 - Kimberly Bakker

The Ministry of Infrastructure and Water Management does not agree with the proposal of various industry associations, such as Cumela and Fedecom, to postpone the new approval requirement for towed agricultural vehicles by 1 year. Fedecom reports this on its website.

The fact that the transition period of 1 year is not accepted by the ministry, means that the approval requirement for agricultural vehicles is active from 1 January 2018.

Improving integral safety
The aim of the new regulations is to improve the overall safety of the vehicle and of the vehicle combinations. For example, the new, stricter legislation deals with braking systems, axle loads, underride protection and width marking.
